The Southbourne Schools Out Blitz Tournament tournament was held yesterday evening at Tuckton Social Club (the home venue of Southbourne Chess Club) to celebrate the start of the school summer holidays.

The format was a 6 round swiss with 8 minutes plus 3 second increments for each player.

16 players took part including 6 players from other clubs and 9 juniors, 3 of whom took the top 3 places!

There were free refreshments and cash prizes exceeded entry fees.

Finn Schell (Southbourne), pictured above, came 1st with 5 points out of 6 winning £25.

Zander Booth (Poole) & Elllis Fretwell (Poole), pictured above, came joint 2nd with 4½ points winning £5 each.

Jason Wang (Southbourne), pictured above, won the Under 1700 rating prize with 4 points winning £10.

Anton Vann (Southbourne), pictured above, won the Under 1550 rating prize with 3 points winning £10.

Agastya Deshprabhu (Unattached) & Jackson Vann (Southbourne), pictured above, won the Under 1350 rating prize with 2 points winning £5 each.
