17 April: Last night’s 3-1 win for New Milton A v Poole C has important implications for both ends of the table. And it has set up an exciting final round of matches in this Division. It means New Milton A could still be promoted, but they need to beat Wimborne B convincingly in their last match and also hope Ringwood A lose heavily to Bournemouth A.
As Tarik has persuasively and eloquently explained on LMS, although Poole C are now relegated, they performed well during the season and came close to winning individual games which were eventually narrowly lost. And they faced strong opponents throughout and were typically out graded on every board. This was the case against New Milton A, whose combined grades of 601 compared with Poole C 537. All good experience though and a sense Poole C are already well motivated for next season in B&D 3.
In the meantime, well done to New Milton A who have rallied well after 2 disappointing mid-season results against Ringwood A and could yet play in B&D 1 next season if things go their way.
