Successful friendly Chess Knights continue at Dorchester Library - Julian Cherryson confirms new dates

Dorchester Library & Learning Centre
The local club sees this as a very good opportunity to reach out to new chess players who could become future members. All very friendly and welcoming.

17th September 2019 - 5:30 pm

26th May 2020 - 5:30 pm

12 Sept ’19: Dorchester Chess Club’s Julian Cherryson has advised these Tuesdays for the next Chess Knights sessions: 17 Sept and then 1, 15 & 29 Oct. They continue through to Tues, 26 May ’20 and are free. For actual dates please go to “Chess Knights” on the Dorset Council website. The start time is 5.30pm and finish 6.30pm. Typically, each session is attended by at least one member of Dorchester Chess Club.

Chess Knights are promoted for ages 14 and above and it is suggested they offer a great opportunity to “exercise your mind”. They are apparently especially appealing for those adults and teenagers who would like some practice, learning and experience before possibly joining a chess club, or taking part in other organised chess activities. And some going along are returners to the game after a long break from it.

Also, building on the success of Chess Knights, Dorchester Library is starting a fortnightly children’s chess learning club, 4pm to 4.45pm. This began Fri 13 Sept, so the next one is Fri 27 Sept and so on.
