Meets: Tuesday evenings 7pm until 11pm (match days) and Thursday afternoons from 2pm till 4.30pm. When you are a member of the Conservative Club you can play as long as you like and when you like

Match Starts: 7:30pm

Aims and objectives: To encourage, foster and teach the playing of Chess in accordance with the code of The English Chess Federation. To organise competitions, tournaments, matches and displays and support the Bournemouth & District Chess League.

Signing in: New Milton Conservative Club is a private members club and, as such, subject to local licensing laws. All visiting players must be signed in before play can commence. There is ample space for post-match analysis, and visiting players may make use of the Club bar, but not the snooker tables or other club facilities.

Car parking: Although the Conservative Club has its own car park, this is restricted to club members with special permits only. Visiting players are therefore recommended to park on Station Road itself, where there is usually ample space in the evenings. Alternatively, there is free parking in Osborne Road (immediately past the Community Centre). We think it only fair to point out that anyone parking on the Club car park is liable to be asked by Conservative Club staff to move the vehicle, with the unfortunate consequence of loss of clock playing time.

Services and activities offered: We are the only chess club in the area and welcome any person, players or beginners who want to play or learn the game. Later on you may wish to play in one of our league matches which we play during the year.

Payments: Visitors will have to pay £1 initially per visit, but after a few weeks you will be asked to join the Conservative Club, when the £1 per visit will no longer apply. When you join the Conservative Club you will be entitled to all the benefits of the clubs other activities as well. (see New Milton Conservative Club). All payments do not apply to visiting teams on match nights.

Meeting place facilities: There are 2 bars, teas & coffees and hot meals at certain times

Special needs are catered for: We have easy access for people in wheel chairs, because we play on the ground floor
