 19 June: With chess in the town of Highcliffe currently on a high, Richard Ursell reports of an exciting match to take place between champions….

“The date has been set for the biggest derby in history…..the meeting of the two strongest teams in Highcliffe. The all conquering Highcliffe School take on Highcliffe Chess Club. Venue Highcliffe School date 10th July at 3.30 PM. This should prove an awesome challenge for Highcliffe Chess Club fresh from victory over Purbeck in the final of the club knockout. This is the first meeting of these two great clubs in history so no pressure. It is likely  Ken Smith will captain HCC , while Brian Lose will captain the school’.
