Yeo v Erdal-Smith played in 1979 and with white to move

Mike Yeo chess position 1979 posted 210419
Mike Yeo has now retired from competitive chess, but was one of Dorset's strongest players for many years. Amongst the teams he played for were Wessex, Lymington & Ringwood

This was a masterclass from Mike Yeo, who went on to win in just 20 moves. Alan Dommett annotates the full game under “Games” describing it as “superb”.

White played 11. f5!

After 11….gxf5  (not 11…exf5 which loses material after 12. e6) white now played 12. Nxf7!! and the start of, in Alan’s words, a “constant bombardment”
