Poole win Dorchester Jamboree – 7 teams take part in excellent season opener
Julian Cherryson reports Poole Chess Club won the Dorchester Jamboree for the first time scoring 5 out of 6. Ringwood came second with 4 out of 6. Event took place Thurs 6 Sept ’18.
Teams of six from seven chess clubs took part (Weymouth, Yeovil, Dorchester, Purbeck, Poole, Wimborne and Ringwood).
There were 21 boards and every team played each of the other six teams on one board.
Very many thanks to the Dorchester club for hosting and making this thoroughly enjoyable evening possible. Special well done to Julian Cherryson for his first class controlling of a complex competition and the Dorchester Secretary Mark Potter, who played a major part in the organisation. The evening was really appreciated by all the clubs and players taking part.
