28 Oct: Martin Simons is keen to publicise another local initiative to encourage junior players of all ages. This one is being run by Southbourne at Tuckton. Here is the message Martin has sent:

Southbourne Chess Club is pleased to announce that it will be running a free bitesize Junior Chess session at Tuckton Social Club for a 7 week trial period every Friday from 8th November until 20th December starting at 6.30pm finishing at 7.15pm. All ages and standards are welcome and the format will be flexible to accommodate all players, but some tuition may be provided, particularly for beginners. Parents will be asked to remain at the club and everyone will be offered free tea/coffee/squash and biscuits. Parking onsite can be accessed from Old Priory Road. Please approach the barrier slowly and it will automatically rise.
