Entry to this event is now closed.
The good level of entries has allowed for the prize fund to be increased.
There will now be six £20 rating prizes. First prize been increased to £60 and second prize has been increased to £40
The 26th Dorset Rapidplay Chess Championship will be held on Sunday 8th May from 11.30am to 4.30pm.
There are a few changes relative to the past few years:

It will be held at Merley Community Centre rather than Greyfriars

Accordingly the number of entrants will be limited, especially as it is being held alongside the Dorset Junior Chess Festival and we want a quiet separate room with good playing conditions

Entries are restricted to those aged 18 years or over.

The time limit is a little faster at 15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment.
But much remains the same:

There will be 6 rounds

Whilst there won’t be a full lunch there will be free drinks and biscuits and snacks will be available at low cost

There will be guaranteed prizes, including rating and veterans prizes

The Championship Cup will be awarded
