Southbourne Junior chess club.

Southbourne junior chess club meets on a Friday evening from 6pm to 7.15pm at Tuckton Social Club, 222 Tuckton Road, Southbourne BH6 3AA. The club is free and welcomes a wide range of ages  and levels of experience from beginners to junior league players. The club evenings are a mix of playing chess, informal individual coaching and bitesize formal coaching in small groups. The club also offers coaching towards the ECF Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates, and runs mini tournaments.

The junior club is affiliated to the main Southbourne Chess Club in the Bournemouth & District Chess League and, over time, many of the junior players have progressed to the main chess club.

Bournemouth Library Chess Club

Chess coaching at this independent chess club at Bournemouth Library runs each Saturday where there are two sessions: 10am to 11am and 11.30am to 12.30am. The cost is £7.50 per hour. The club covers an array of coaching techniques and puzzles, includes one to one coaching, and there is a separate ladder competition and end of terms tournaments.

Ferndown junior chess club

The Ferndown Chess Club is an independent junior chess club. This free club is designed for juniors from the ages of 6 – 14 who are mainly at beginner level and is organised and run by Graham Morris, primarily teaching beginners with the aim of expanding the number of tutors to cater for the more advanced chess players.

The club meets every Saturday during term time at the Ferndown Library, Pennys Walk, Ferndown BH22 9TH.

The 1st session runs from 10am till 11am and the 2nd session from 11am till 12noon.

The chess club has the use of a dedicated room upstairs, by kind permission of the Dorset Council, to whom it is extremely grateful.
