The traditional exciting annual Dorchester Jamboree took place on Thursday 12th September 2024 at the Colliton Club, Dorchester.
It all started in 2007 as an idea from club members and in particular, Geoff Searing, to celebrate the start of the club’s 25th anniversary season. It invited other chess clubs in Dorset and Yeovil Chess Club, its close neighbour.
This year, there were 5 teams competing and some exciting games of chess played.
Winners, Yeovil, being presented with their trophy from Geoff Searing (Dorchester) who has been the chief organiser of this fun event for the past 17 years
Yeovil played extremely well to retain the trophy with a score of 5 points out of 6.
