Dorset Juniors win again in rounds 4 and 5 of the Online Junior 4NCL

4ncl competition

Dorset Juniors have been in action again over the past couple of weeks in the Online Junior 4NCL and have notched up two more impressive wins.

Round 4

In round 4 we faced Surrey Kings and came away with a 7-1 win.

Ellis’ first game ended up in an interesting position with five rooks on the board: no escape for his opponent!

Round 5

The excellent results continued with a great 8 – 0 win this by Zander, Ellis, Joshua and Sam against Chess Challengers G.

Sam had me rather worried initially as he was late arriving online. Fortunately, he just made it with seconds to spare just before the first default cut-off and was able to play two games, both successfully. Phew, that was a relief!

There was a very nice checkmate in Zander’s second game.

Table and Next Rounds

As a result of this comprehensive win, we are now lying second in the Division 4 table on 8 points behind the leaders, Rogue Rooks.

Our next match, Round 6, is in two weeks time on 30 March, followed by Round 7 on 13 April.  I anticipate that we may have a couple of tough matches coming along in these, the last two rounds!
