Several Dorset junior chess players were in action this weekend at the Hampshire Open Junior Blitz. Dorset Juniors taking part included Jamie Doyle, Finn Schell, Zander Booth, Florence Spirling, Leo Camopy, Harry Mercer, Matthew Butcher and, new to OTB tournaments, Smyan Sripirasanna. From a field of 40 youngsters, at least 8 were from Dorset which is wonderful representation.

With a time control of 3 minutes plus 2 second increments, it certainly was a fast and furious 15 rounds.

Many congratulations to Jamie Doyle (right) on coming 2nd with a score of 13 points out of a possible 15.

And, to Finn Schell (left) who came 7th with 9 points.

Very well played indeed both of you.

All Dorset Juniors played exceptionally well, and we are very proud of you all. This bodes so well for the future of Dorset Junior Chess.
