Highcliffe riding high after 3-1 win at Dorchester B secures County 2 – in debut season

Highcliffe County Div 2 winners Dorset Chess 110419

12 April: Many congratulations to Highcliffe after their success last night, made possible with wins on the top 2 boards, and draws on 3 & 4. It was always going to be a key fixture, bringing together 2 strong teams and mindful Dorchester B were the one team to have beaten Highcliffe, at fortress Greystones, back in October. In his typically ebullient style Richard Ursell has given a full report on LMS.

For their part Dorchester B, who have completed their programme, competed well throughout with often narrow defeats – it would have needed just a few more game points to have become Championship challengers themselves.
