Please note that the Ringwood Online tournaments that are run by Martin Clancy and are open to all local players have had a schedule change: the Friday afternoon arenas are being discontinued because of insufficient interest. Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons are continuing as usual.

As you can see on the home page, as well as conventional chess:

• This coming Monday features Fischer Random / 960 which is a always a good brain workout.   If you have never tried this variant, I can wholeheartedly recommend it as something that retains a lot of normal chess feel whilst providing something a little different.
• This coming Wednesday features the Modern Benoni which should lead to some extremely lively chess.

We are always delighted to welcome new players at these events and it is always fine to drop in for just a few games even if you cannot stay for the whole duration.
