Poole Seniors Congress, Oct 31 – Nov 4, Attracts Entrants From Far and Wide

Chess League advice and information

Entries are coming in from far and wide for the Poole Seniors tournament, details of which are given below.   This provides an excellent opportunity for local players to face fresh opponents from outside the area.

At this stage few local players have entered but it is hoped there will be a last minute rush of Dorset players, as is often the case with local tournaments.

You can see the entries to date in the link given at the bottom of this page.

Graham Hillman is running the inaugural Poole Seniors Chess Congress  from 31st October to 4th November 2022, with one game each day starting at 11 am.  This is being run independently from the DCCA and B&DCL but will be of great interest to local players and so will be covered on this website.

There will be two sections:

  • “Juniors” aged 50-60 yo
  • “Seniors” aged 60 yo +

First prize is £200 per section.

The venue is Poole Centenary Hall Club, 22 Wimborne Road, Poole, BH15 2BU (which is also Poole Chess Club’s splendid new venue).

Full details and the entry form can be found here.
