17 players took part last Wednesday’s evening 3+3 blitz and 5+3 Ruy Lopez themed events, including several players from the Southampton league – indeed the blitz was won by Keith Gregory (pictured). Friday and Saturday afternoon events were more modestly attended, but even here the numbers were up slightly at 11 and 7 respectively. All the events ran very smoothly, with no repeat of the previous Saturday’s server problems.
