UK Chess Challenge – tough Terafinals and best of luck for Challengers

The weekend of 4th and 5th September saw the 3rd round of the Delancey UK Chess Challenge, known as the Preliminary Terafinal (online).

Our 4 Dorset Chess juniors (Merlin, Jamie, Larissa and Zander) had done exceptionally well to make it into the Preliminary Terafinals against strong competition. Whilst all of them performed well, the opposition proved to be very tough and, unfortunately, none of our 4 juniors qualified directly for the right to play at the Finals in October at Blenheim Palace.

However, there is still one more opportunity to qualify from the ‘Challengers face to face tournament’ at the Daventry Court Hotel which is taking place this weekend, on the 18th and 19th September. This is the first round to date that will be an over the board tournament.

Since this is an over the board or face to face tournament, results will be on Chess-Results.

We wish those who have decided to ‘give it another shot’ all the very best of luck.
