Good luck to Dorset juniors in this weekend’s Terafinal Preliminaries

Dorset Junior Chess is extremely proud of the four local junior chess players who will be competing in the online Terafinal Preliminaries this weekend on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September.

The Terafinal Preliminaries is the penultimate round in the Delancey UK Chess Challenge, a national chess competition run across the UK and across five age groups from U8 to U18. The UK Chess Challenge first took place in 1996 and has since grown into the largest children’s chess tournament in the world. It’s a very tough and demanding chess competition.

Zander Booth (U10), Larissa Cuthbert (U12), Jamie Doyle (U14), and Merlin Cork (U18) all qualified from the Gigafinal stage and will be in action across the weekend.

Larissa and Merlin are pictured below.
