Junior 4NCL, Season 9, Round 2 – Mixed Fortunes for Dorset Juniors

4ncl competition

Dorset Juniors 1: win 8-0

Well done to Dorset Juniors 1 team – Zander, Hugo, Michal and Jack – for a very resounding win in Division 2 against Edgware Gambits B. All players notched up two excellent wins each.  In fact, Michal had won both his games within 15 minutes of the start time, with Jack not far behind, whilst others took it a little more steady.

The result puts the team nicely placed at the top of Group A, with two other teams on 4 points (both are our opponents in the next two rounds) but we have slightly better game points.

Dorset Juniors 2:  3-5 loss

It’s looking as if Division 3 could be as challenging as Division 2, with both of our teams playing against opponents of similar strength.

As with the previous round, Dorset Juniors 2 battled hard but narrowly lost. Although the opponents appeared to be similarly rated on paper, they actually  proved to be tough opponents. Well done to Arthur for two excellent wins, and to Harry for his win playing black.

This result leaves the team in 6th place after two rounds but there are still 5 rounds to go and our team has some good game points, so there is still plenty of opportunity to pick up some good results.
