There were mixed results this evening for our two teams:
Dorset Juniors 1: comprehensively won 8 to -1
With minutes to go before the start of the round, we received notification on the captain’s forum that our opponent’s board 2 was unable to play. As a result, Anuhas had two wins without playing, and our opponents were deducted a point. Anuhas took the message very well and stayed online to support his fellow teammates.

There were also, of course, double wins for the rest of the team: Zander, Hugo and Michal in what was an emphatic win. Well played everyone, a comprehensive victory!
We are currently in third place in Group A of Division 1, just one point behind the leaders, Colchester Juniors. And guess what…..we will be playing Colchester Juniors in round 5!

Dorset Juniors 2: lost 2 to 6
Unfortunately, DJ2 were missing a few key players in Jack and Sam, in what had always looked, on paper, to be a potentially tough match. Jadan played well and won both his matches but sadly was the only DJ2 player to notch up a win this evening. Arthur’s first match was long and close but unfortunately it wasn’t to go his way. Meanwhile, it was a good learning experience for the two inexperienced players, Karla and Akshay who were both heavily outrated by their opponents online ratings. Karla fought hard in her second match and looked like she had a better position at times.

The result drops us down the table just a little bit to 10th position (out of 31) but it’s still all to play for, and there are a couple of teams at the bottom of the table who have yet to score.
