Dave Lockwood Memorial event highly successful & fitting tribute; 37 take part

Poole Dave Lockwood Memorial 170819

David Lockwood Poole Chess Club19 Aug: Excellent report from Dave Fuller on a great day of quick-play chess held Sat 17 Aug ’19 at Poole to remember Dave Lockwood (pictured immediate left) who had been such an outstanding and loyal member of Poole Chess Club. He had been a member for over 50 years and played in the Parkstone and Merck clubs, forerunners to the present day Poole. A large entry of 37 and a most efficient, overall organiser was Ciprian Stanciu.

Main picture is Jamie Doyle, with Ciprian. Jamie scored a splendid 3 points and apparently could not help smiling with pleasure after winning both the Under 100 competition and also the best Junior Award.

Picture below: Winner Keith Gregory who played faultlessly with 6 wins out of 6. Presenter is Ciprian.
