West of England Online: Hants/Dorset/Wilts lose in round 4

Chess League advice and information

Following defeats in rounds 1 and 3 and a bye in round 2, the combined Hants/Dorset/Wilts team faced a Cornwall team which on paper they looked to have a chance against: Cornwall had a significant rating advantage on the top board but the remaining 14 boards were fairly evenly matched, with Hants/Dorset/Wilts actually being higher rated on 9 boards.   However, they went down once more, this time 9-6.

4 Dorset players took part, these being Allan Pleasants (Weymouth), Bill Adaway (Wimborne), Tim Jones (New Milton) and Jamie Doyle (Southbourne) all playing on the top 7 boards with one of them, Tim, winning and Bill drawing.
